Wilmington, CA - Valero Refining

The 86,000 square foot facility at Valero Refining serves many purposes. With 27,000 sq. ft. of two-story finished office and locker room space, and 59,000 sq. ft. of shop, welding, testing, repair, and warehouse area, the new building allows different departments and services to coordinate and work together under one roof.

Two 300 ft. length building supported runway beams support two 10-ton bridge cranes, with another two 5-ton bridge cranes and more than a dozen 1-ton column mounted and floor mounted jib cranes. Welding areas include the latest technology and systems for wall mounted welding fume
extraction and filtering systems, and all exterior exposed canopy cover steel is hot dipped galvanized.

We worked on this design-build project with the use of BIM modeling and clash detection software due to the large amount of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) included in the building.
